Leaving a legacy gift

Every year Book Aid International is lucky enough to receive a number of legacy gifts, both large and small. We are always humbled to be remembered in this way, with some of the gifts representing a culmination of many years of supporting Book Aid International.

Remembering Book Aid International in your will really is planning a future filled with books – another step along the way for our vision of a world where everyone has access to the books and information they need to change their lives.

It is becoming more common to remember charities in this way, after the needs of family and friends have been taken care of. One particular consideration in doing so is that legacies of this kind can reduce or even eliminate the need to pay tax on an estate, being exempt from inheritance tax.

Incorporating a gift to charity in a new will, or adding a legacy to an existing one, is much easier than you may think. In order to assist anyone who may be considering supporting Book Aid International in this way, we have produced a fact sheet that covers the main points of leaving a gift to charity, and hopefully answer many of the most frequently asked questions. You can download the fact sheet here.

If you have already been kind enough to remember Book Aid International in your will and have not already notified us, you can do so by completing this short form, and sending it back Freepost to Book Aid International. It really helps us to be kept informed of this type of pledge.
