Payroll giving is a simple and highly tax-effective way of supporting our work, for the following reasons:
1. Since a donation comes from a person's gross pay before tax, a monthly gift of £10 would 'cost' someone less than £8 if they are a standard rate tax payer and £6 for a higher rate tax payer.
2. Additionally, many companies will match each gift £ for £.
This means that for a monthly deduction of only £6 we could possibly benefit by up to £21.
Employees
If you are an employee and your company already runs a Give As You Earn scheme, ask them to add Book Aid International to their list of charities, so that you can start giving straight away!
Alternatively, just download a
CAF payroll giving application form
Companies
Businesses can get tax relief when they give money to a registered charity, whether as a one-off or a regular payment.
From April 2000 all gifts of money qualify for tax relief under the Gift Aid scheme.
If you are an employer, and you would be interested in setting up a Give As You Earn scheme with Book Aid International, contact Jacqui Scott by email or by calling 020 7733 3577.

'It's great - I don't have to remember to do anything - and because the money I donate is regular and reliable, I know it can make a real difference.'
