Introduction

Book Aid International has put together a range of classroom resources to help you to celebrate World Book Day and Children's Book Week. The activities we have included are intended for primary and lower secondary pupils.

Any feedback about these resources would be most welcome. If you would like to receive a copy of our 2008 schools poster please email clara.sheaf@bookaid.org with your name, position and your school's address details.

Classroom Resources

World Book Day activity poster
We are producing a two sided classroom resource poster for World Book Day, designed to raise awareness of overseas development issues. Children will be invited to take part in a nationwide poster competition.

A copy of the poster will be sent in the official World Book Day pack to every school in the UK during January 2008. If for any reason you don't receive one or you would like an additional free copy of the whole poster for display, please contact us and we will send you one.

One hundred million children are out of school - will you help?

Education is a human right - and one of the most effective routes out of poverty - yet more than 100 million children in the world receive no education. Two-thirds of them are girls. The Global Campaign for Education raises awareness about the need for more and better teachers to enable all children everywhere to have the chance to gain an education.
