Book Aid International is campaigning to send children to school
World leaders have promised that all children will have a primary education by 2015, but with only 7 years to go there are still 72 million children who miss out on education completely.
"This is completely unacceptable. Urgent international action is required to close the education gap," said Joseph O'Reilly, Head of Policy and Programmes at Book Aid International.
"We're part of a global effort to create the political will necessary to ensure all children receive a quality education and we're urging our friends and supporters to join us.
"The Global Campaign for Education, which we are part of, is asking politicians and decision makers to speed up their efforts to ensure that all children get the chance to go to school."
This year's challenge is to get all UK MPs involved, with schools sending them "missing out" cards and asking them to pledge their support. Each card symbolises one of the millions of children worldwide who have never had the chance to go to school.
Sign up now! You can order FREE school resources, including a set of 60 action cards for pupils, stickers, special "missing out" cards that pupils can send to their MP, and a campaign DVD.
We're also looking for schools to sign up to take part in the World's Biggest Lesson on Wednesday 23 April. Children in 120 countries worldwide will be getting involved.
Send My Friend 08 is organised by the Global Campaign for Education in the UK, which we are a part of. Find out more at http://www.sendmyfriend.org/.
